I am excited to share a little bit about myself. My name is Ivonne Garcia and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am a Florida native and lived there most of my life until I took a leap into the unknown and moved to North Carolina with my family a few years ago. I graduated from Florida International University with my Bachelors and Masters in Social Work where I received advanced training that primarily focused on children and families with mental health issues. In addition, I received advanced training providing counseling services to adults with substance abuse issues. I worked for most of my career in one of the largest healthcare systems in Florida where I worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving patients and their families facing illnesses, loss, and significant life changes. It was an honor to work in the community as I have a deep passion in serving others.
After 15 years of working in the field, I took a couple of years to explore other opportunities of interest but my heart led me back to serve the community again. I opened my private practice and I have enjoyed every moment of the journey in serving clients who are in need of a safe space and support. My area of expertise is serving clients who have anxiety / depression, in the crossroads of significant life changes, relationship issues, codependency / perfectionism, self esteem issues, career change, and mostly clients who are tired of living a life with no spark and joy.
